Woman arrested after allegedly ... - Pittsburgh Criminal Attorneys Blog

Over the course of the last several months, police officers in the town of Finleyville, Pennsylvania, just south of Pittsburgh, have been conducting an investigation into the drug trade. In conjunction with the investigation, a 56-year-old woman has found herself on the receiving end of drug charges. The woman was arrested in September at the Gastonville Post Office.

According to the Finleyville police chief, the suspected woman was allegedly selling crack cocaine out of her residence and distributing the drug at a number of bars in the area. Additionally, the woman purportedly made drug sales to undercover police officers on two different occasions. She has been officially charged with two counts of possession and two counts of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance.

At the time of her arrest, the woman is said to have had five rocks of crack cocaine in her possession. Police allege the drugs she had on her person when she was apprehended had already been separated for sale. The woman is currently being held in lieu of $20,000 bond at the Washington County Correctional Facility.

Drug charges that include possession with the intent to deliver are considered extreme offenses in the state of Pennsylvania. As such, the woman in question will likely require the aid of a strong defense in order to secure the best possible outcome in the courtroom. Legal counsel experienced in criminal law as it pertains specifically to drug charges will likely prove her best option for mounting a suitable defense.
